It's a lovely, bright day here on the Costa...

...and just to prove it, here's a pic I took earlier!

I love Autumn here, all the holiday makers have gone home, and we get the best weather all to ourselves; no crowds, no-one on the beaches, no sunburn queue at the medical centre...

Well, the new rug has a lot to answer for!  Looking all nice, and clean, and NEW, it showed up the flaws in the rest of the room.  A cleaning, polishing, washing-of-chair-cover frenzy ensued, and now my poor back is making me pay.

I have an appointment at the pain clinic next week, so hopefully I'll get something more long-term sorted.  Am more than a little frustrated by this cycle of feeling OK, doing something mundane, and having to lay up for a couple of days.  Nil desperandum, it really IS a beautiful day.

There I was minding my own business...

... when up pops Sue with her brand new Blog, so now I have to have a blog, don't I?  Can't be outdone by the Robster...

Went to the market this morning to buy 'im a pair of slippers.  Get half way up the hill, when we both realise we haven't enough cash on us, so stop at the ATM only to find that it's out of service.  We go to the next one, and it wants €8 commission!  Finally we turn the car round (amidst much swearing, and short-lived intentions to phone the bank in the morning to complain about the ATM), and go back home to collect more funds.  Dogs throw themselves at us in sheer delight that we haven't been very long, and we leave with their disappointed little faces etched on our overworked guilt receptors.

Finally at the market, we buy a new rug,  various household items, plus breakfast in the shape of bacon rolls, spending in the region of €100, but despite passing numerous slipper stalls, nothing meets the demanding standards of my hubby. He wants to look again next week, but this time I'm going to pay attention to the signs and not take more money than I need for the slippers.

Rug looks nice though...
